We believe by sharing the stories of ordinary people we can help each other become more aware of our own history and more connected to each other and the place where we live. Contact Us The Sound and Story Project of the Hudson Valley PO Box 919 Stone Ridge, NY 12484 | | Our Team Jim Metzner has produced more than 4,000 short-format radio programs since 1979, winning over a dozen broadcasting awards, including the Public Radio Program Award from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Grand Award at the International Radio Festival of New York, and a Silver Medal from the United Nations. Jim’s weekday radio series, Pulse of the Planet, provides its listeners with a two-minute sound portrait of planet earth and is heard worldwide in English and Spanish on over 475 broadcast outlets, including WAMC-FM in New York’s Hudson Valley.. Eileen McAdam is a Library and Information Specialist who has worked in numerous fields connecting people through information and education. She has been the director of media centers and both public and special libraries. Her belief in the power of stories to engender understanding between people and communities has inspired her to launch the Sound and Story Project of the Hudson Valley and The World Sound Foundation. Tim Hawkins is an archivist who has overseen numerous library and museum digital projects. He was the Naropa University Archivist where he managed the administration of Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics Audio Collection reformatting and access project, funded by NEA, NEH, Save America’s Treasures and the GRAMMY Foundation. He is currently archiving the audio collection of Pulse of the Planet. |
