We take it for granted that you can defend scenic beauty, wildlife and the environment with the power of the law. But there was a time when pollution by corporations went relatively unchecked until a small group of concerned citizens decided to fight back. Their struggle launched the modern environmental movement. It happened here in the Hudson Valley. And it all began with an image.

The Hudson River Foundation seeks to make science integral to decision-making with regard to the Hudson River and its watershed to support competent stewardship of this extraordinary resource.
