What Hudson River native has red tipped \"fingers\"?

Listen to John Mylod's story and find out!

This story is part of the River Voices Audio Adventure Tour. The sign is located in Waryas Park Poughkeepsie, NY.

John Mylod is a Hudson River commercial shad and blue crab fisherman and a native of Poughkeepsie.

John setting out from Poughkeepsie early one fall morning to pull his traps. After each trap is pulled and any catch removed, John puts fresh bate in the trap before he sets it again.

John has caught as many as 32 crabs in one trap, but this time he is not so lucky.   Looks like a female! John generally throws back the female crabs leaving them for propagation.
Today's catch. John pulled about 80 pots and caught about 1.5 bushels. Look for this sign on a Poughkeepsie road this fall and try some sweet tasting Hudson River blue crab.
